I never take it for granted when I’m invited to meet a new baby and their family for the first time. This is a unique and special time in a family’s life so it is a real privilege to be asked to be a part of it. At home session is the best way to capture a new baby, relaxed and surrounded by their family.
Baby Grace and her parents are no exception. I could actually feel the awe and love in their home which always brings me back to the days when my own babies were brand new.
Grace was amazing throughout her newborn session. She was wide awake for the majority of the time I was with her, looking around, making eye contact, listening to the sound of her mother’s voice who was nearby, only falling asleep in the last few minutes. I managed to grab some lovely sleepy shots while she lay in the beautiful natural light of the master bedroom. As well as portraits of baby I like to capture all the important new baby details such as toes, fingers, fluffy hair, chubby knees. These details are important to parents as they change so quickly in the first few weeks and months.
