Little James was not expected until mid March but made an early arrival by three weeks. Thankfully he was perfect in every way and was home from hospital with his Mummy (my baby sister) and Daddy the very next day.
Waiting at home were his two sisters, Jade who is sixteen and Lily, eleven. They have been excitedly waiting for James to be born for what seems an eternity and have been very hands on..
A day or so after James was born came the ‘Beast from the East’ and the family settled into a quiet few days getting to know each other. This was great timing for them and it gave them some resting and bonding time with their newborn.
When James was five days old, I made the short journey on foot through the snow with camera bag, wraps and blankets in tow to my sister’s house to capture some images of baby James at home with his sisters.
He slept throughout the hour long photo session which doesn’t often happen and meant we managed to capture some lovely sleepy images of him bundled up on the bed of the master bedroom. He looks so tiny in some of these images and indeed he was still quite small as he was only five days old and three weeks early!
