My most recent documentary session was with a lovely family who had just welcomed a brand new baby girl. Mum Julie, Dad Brendan and older brother Daniel are totally smitten with baby Aoibheann. This house was full of love when I visited for a Half Day in the Life documentary session. We captured some lovely storytelling images which I know will be cherished by all the family members, including baby Aoibheann, when she is old enough to appreciate just how much she means to her family.
Documentary photography is about telling a story, capturing events, recording moments and emotions. It is not a traditional approach to family photography, the style we all grew up with, it is personal. That is why I try to encourage clients to consider a session like this. It is real! It is love! It is your family!
